Meet our Warm and Wonderful Guest Support Artist and Teachers
Jeanette Salib, Resident Artist
My name is Jeanette Salib, and I am a mixed-media artist with a passion for portraiture and anime illustrations. Despite being a mother of seven, I yearned for some personal time.
About five years ago, I stumbled upon art journaling with no prior experience. Unlike my previous focus on music, poetry, and reading, art gradually captivated me.
Now, I am deeply enamored with the process of drawing people and conveying emotions in a positive light, resonating not just with myself but with others as well.

What draws me to art is its ability to serve as a journey of self-exploration and emotional expression, constantly introducing me to new techniques and approaches.
The endless possibilities of discovery within the artistic realm keep me continuously excited and engaged.
Along the way, I have delved into various mediums such as watercolors, colored pencils, collage, alcohol markers, and pastels, each offering its unique charm.
I am particularly intrigued by the idea of exploring oil paints and encaustics; they seem like incredibly enjoyable mediums to experiment with.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my artistic journey has been the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion.
Joining Awesome Art School has allowed me to forge meaningful connections with fellow artists, and after so many years, I finally feel like I've found my soul tribe.
Jeanette works tirelessly behind-the-scenes of all the lessons of all the Clubs and courses every day, answering questions, and offering feedback and support.
She also attends all LIVE art sessions with Karen to help students with tech and supply questions and can be found cheering members on in the Facebook Group daily offering the same amazing services while posting photos of her incredible creations.

Bryn Nguyen, Guest Teacher

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been crafty and involved in the arts. I did not realize I could draw until a friend in college saw something I drew for fun and thought I had some talent and suggested I take a couple college courses. I ended up minoring in fine arts.
I got my master’s degree in teaching and taught fifth and sixth grade for almost 15 years. As a teacher I used what I learned in “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” to show my students how an artist perceives the world. I loved watching students exit the year with art skills they had no idea they possessed when they entered my classroom.
One day in 2018 I was at Michael’s and saw a book on creating beautiful female faces. Even though I minored in art, I had never taken a life drawing class so my skills in drawing people was very limited.
I decided I wanted to learn how to draw faces—particularly whimsical faces—while my daughter was at school. I enrolled in a bazillion art courses, Awesome Art School being one of them—which had a huge influence in my growth as an artist, and over time started taking the things I learned from these courses and developing my own style.
I call my style “whimsical realism” because I make whimsical women with mostly realistic facial proportions—I may exaggerate some features like necks, hair, eyelashes, and noses.
